The Products Table
What are products?
Glad you asked! Products here mean keyboards. I am a wholesale distributor of hi-tech keyboards.
What does that even mean... you ask?
Well... you know, I source stuff like split keyboards, mechanical keyboards... etc. from people who make them
And then I sell it to retailers
Who then sell it to kool kids..like you probably.
Okay, so this is essentially my products catalog. All info relating to the keyboards I have for sale live here.
Products Table
So.. yes, it’s one product per row. And Each product has a unique ID (the prod_id column) .
prod_id is the primary key.
There are five fields to hold info about the keyboards I sell.
Most of them are self explanatory.
Except for the vendor id filed, what is that doing here?
The vendor ID field here is a common field shared with the vend_id column in Vendors table.
What..!
P.S: I’ll be explaining what common shared column really means when I discuss inner joins later in the course, so don’t fret about it now.
moving on..
