View DealDo you want a completely different way to plan at the short term level, meaning the hourly, daily and weekly levels?
Do you want a method that will maximize flow and creativity, and minimize distractions and rigidity?
I've mentioned a few times over the past few years that I don't actually follow my own Mastering Planning method to a T.
Now for the first time I'm revealing exactly what that means.
Since I started my business many years ago, I always had a goal: to be able to set my own schedule and to work when and where I want, and to enjoy the process.
The result of that requirement I set for myself is this planning method.
From the outside, it may look as if I don't plan.
But I do, I just focus my explicit planning on the longer term time horizons of months, quarters, years, and especially multi-year, long term planning.
At the short term level, I follow my intuition and set up my systems so that I can effortlessly switch between projects and pick up where I left off months or years later.
The reason why I do this is because my model of creativity says that creativity is all about finding new connections and new combinations, and so to do that I have to continually get outside of "the box" of whatever domain I'm currently working in or studying.
Regimented planning does not facilitate this process.
I need to be able to switch to something else when I get a hunch and not worry about picking up the pieces later when I come back to the original project.
But beyond everything above, which is at the level of productivity and output and efficiency, the even more important aspect to this planning system is that it maximizes my enjoyment of my time each day.
Ultimately, I care more about maximizing my subjective well being (which roughly means happiness but takes into account cultural variation and ambiguity with other words like fulfillment and contentment which represent somewhat different values/ideals in different cultural ideologies) than maximizing my productivity.
And this method is designed to allow you to follow your intuitition and your natural body rhythms to optimize your overall lifetime subjective well being.
If that's what you're after, I look forward to seeing you inside the course.
